The Taste Makers

This is the preliminary site for Vicki Oppenheimer's book called The Taste Makers: How New World Foods Came to Old World Kitchens, illustrated by Mona Luisa Diogo. The chapters were converted to web format and you can read them here, but these are just drafts of the text that appeared in the printed book, which was published in December 2003 by Milpah Press and the Florida Literary Foundation. The book is now on sale at a reduced price, and it is available for free download in both web and PDF formats. The remaining copies are now on sale for about half the original price:

bulletUS Price, $10
bulletCanadian price, $15 (Canadian dollars of course)
bulletEU price, 12 euros
bulletOther countries, depends on postage

We are just starting the direct sales campaign, and will try to arrange payment through PayPal or some other easy method, but for the present write us for details.

Vicki's first book, On the Nature of Food, sold out in its first edition and has recently been reprinted by Milpah Press. If you cannot find it at your local bookstore, contact us.

You are welcome to look at the following text, but you would probably get more out of the finished version.
